This one has some serious character.
The artwork feels like the cover of some lost backwoods adventure comic. Our blue chimp looks like he’s been living deep in the Berkshire Hills for a very long time, guarding a hidden garden somewhere past the deer trails.
I picture an old cabin back there, a stream full of trout, and a few handmade ceramic bongs lined up on a shelf waiting for company. He doesn’t look angry exactly. More like he’s deciding whether you’re cool enough to stay.
Weed plants crowd around him, with two ceramic bongs tucked into the artwork beneath that oversized blue lettering. The old price box, worn edges and faded orange, green and cream make it feel like there’s a whole story beyond the cover.
One of my favorite details is the warning: “This product contains high levels of good vibes and happiness. Use responsibly.” Fair enough.
The glaze is dark mossy green with antique copper and rusty metallic tones around the rim, shoulder and base. The copper has that aged metal look I love, while a stripe of neon yellow green crackle cuts down the neck and body. It’s earthy and weathered until that electric streak catches your eye. The whole combination works beautifully with the artwork.
This is what I love about making ceramic bongs: a piece you can turn in your hands and keep finding things in. Rugged, a little weird, and good company for an evening when you’re done being sociable.
Add Stoned Strong to your collection today. A one of a kind handmade ceramic bong, made right here in the Berkshire Hills by The Berkshire Bong Company.
